When people ask how the Dear Casi Foundation began, I often pause—not because I don’t know the answer, but because the story is layered with love, pain, frustration, and a deep desire to make sure no other family feels alone in the way I once did.
The truth is simple: the foundation was born out of a need that wasn’t being met.
As I navigated the world of missing persons, one reality hit me harder than anything else: there just weren’t enough resources for families.
Not enough emotional support.
Not enough guidance when everything feels like a blur.
Not enough people standing beside us in moments when hope feels fragile.
Every family deserves someone to turn to—a voice, a source of strength, a guide in the darkness. But again and again, I found empty spaces where help should have been. It was heartbreaking, and it was wrong. Something needed to change.
The idea for the Dear Casi Foundation came from a very personal place. It wasn’t born in a boardroom or from a business plan. It came from sleepless nights, endless questions, and the overwhelming feeling that I had to do something—anything—to support families walking a path no one should ever have to walk.
But turning that idea into a real foundation?
That part wasn’t easy.
There were days filled with confusion, uncertainty, and the type of exhaustion that settles deep in your bones. Starting a nonprofit meant entering a world of paperwork, legal requirements, planning, and logistics—all while carrying the emotional weight of why I was doing this in the first place. There were days I cried. Days I questioned myself. Days when everything felt too heavy.
And still… I kept going.
Because the need was real.
Because the families deserved better.
Because I knew that even if the journey was hard, the purpose was worth it.
Slowly, piece by piece, the Dear Casi Foundation took form. What started as an idea grew into a mission—a mission to advocate, support, guide, and uplift families of missing loved ones.
We weren’t just filling a gap. We were building a lifeline.
And now, here we are: established, rooted, and growing.
We’ve officially surpassed our first year as a foundation, and the impact has already been profound. Families who once felt alone now have somewhere to turn. Stories are being shared. Voices are being heard. Hope is being restored.
I often think back to those early days—the confusion, the tears, the doubt—and I’m grateful I didn’t give up. The Dear Casi Foundation stands today because of perseverance, passion, and a deep belief that families of missing people deserve unwavering support.
This first year has been a testament to what can grow from pain, purpose, and determination. And if our first year is any indication, the years ahead will be even more powerful.
To every family who has trusted us, to everyone who has supported this journey, and to every person who believes in our mission—thank you.
We’ve only just begun.
